Barbara J. Harris

Barbara J. Harris “BJ” (75) of Galloway, OH passed away December 11, 2022.  She was born June 4, 1947 in Newark, OH to Robert and Mary (Futrell) Ruebush.  She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Darrell Leslie Harris; her children, Christie Lynn Mays, Michael Charles Mays and Kendra Lee (Mays) Martinez; her grandchildren, Danielle (Burge) Decker, Cortney Burge, Rocky Ellis, Travis, Rachelle Thompson, Raelyn, Michael, Antonio Hernández, Dylan Hernández, Caelan  Hernández, Milo Diaz, Aurelia Garcia, Victoria Garcia, Oliver Martinez and Andrés Martinez; her great-grandchildren, Reece Decker, Rylen O’Dell, Little Rocky Ellis, Blake & Brooke Thompson, Ellie Mays, and Junior & Ryleigh & Jayce Clark and her sisters Lynn (Ruebush) Cockerill, Lisa (Ruebush) Ball and Patricia (Ruebush) Cavinee along with nieces and nephews, Sandy, Matt, Angela, Melissa, Tracy and Marcie.  BJ was preceded in death by her parents.

 BJ was a registered nurse serving the health industry from 1976-2011. For over 30 years she worked at Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare as a nursing supervisor, retiring in 2011. She loved reading, gardening and shopping.

 The family will receive friends to the Rader-McDonald-Tidd Funeral Home 1355 West Main St in West Jefferson, OH on Saturday, December 17.  Visitation will happen from 9-10 AM and a celebration of life will follow at 10 AM.  She will be laid to rest at Hampton Cemetery in West Jefferson.
