Bernice Kathleen Thompson

Bernice "Kathleen" Thompson age 77 of West Jefferson, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post 7005, past president of the American Legion Post 201, Women's Auxiliary, Chairman of the St. Jude's Children Hospital's Research charity Bike-a-thon. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Jefferson. Kathleen was loved by everyone who shared in her life. She was well known for her generosity and her charity work in the community.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Anna McCormick, and 16 brothers and sisters.  Kathleen is survived by her husband Harvey, her children, Sheila (Scott) Stevers, Anna (Dave) King, Kathy Cordle, her siblings, Jay (Martha) McCormick, Gladys Jackson, Faye (Carson) Stephenson. Kathleen loved her grandchildren, Amy (Chris) Sockman, P. David lll (Kathy) King, Matthew (Jessica) Stevers, Kelli (Jeremy) Dean, Stephanie Stevers, Kyle Cordle, Zachary Cordle and Cory Brown. Kathleen had 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews along with many friends. The family will receive friends, Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., September 14, 2017 at the RADER-McDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME 1355 W. Main Street, West Jefferson, OH 43162; where funeral services will be held Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Hampton Cemetery.
