Betty Jean Garver

Betty Jean Garver, age 99, of West Jefferson, OH went to be with the Lord on Wednesday Nov.
9th, 2022. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January
16,1923 to the late George and Edna Leslein.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donald Garver and sister, Dorothy Leslein. She is survived by her sons Gary (Sandy) Garver of Napa California, Ron (Teresa) Garver of West Jefferson, and daughter Sharon Garver of Galloway Ohio. She has four grandchildren, Scott (Teri) Garver, Mark Garver, Andy Garver, and Michelle Dineen. She has two great-grandchildren, Kai Garver and Preston Dineen. She is also survived by her brother George (Linda) Leslein, nephews David and Paul Leslein. As well as so many wonderful friends!

Betty lived a long and wonderful life of 99 years and 10 months. She was a member of the West
Jefferson United Methodist Church for 67 years. Her family, faith, and friends were the most
important things to her in her life. She lived according to the golden rule of treating others the
way you would want to be treated and always considered others needs before her own. Her
zest for life was an inspiration to everyone who met her. She spent her years participating in
various clubs including Alpha Gradale, firebelles, card clubs, V.F.W Post 7005 Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Legion Post 201 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to dance and spent
many years dancing at functions and clubs, eventually line dancing into her 90’s. Anytime music
came on, she could not sit still. She was always the life of the party and will be missed by all
who knew her.

The family will welcome friends on Sunday, November 13, 2022, from 2-6 P.m. at the RADER-McDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. MAIN ST., WEST JEFFERSON, OH, 43162, and on Monday, November 14, 2022, from 10-11 A.M. at the WEST JEFFERSON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 36 S. CENTER STREET, WEST JEFFERSON, OH, 43162, where the Funeral Service will follow visitation at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Ruth Pribe officiating.

Burial at Hampton Cemetery, West Jefferson, OH.

the Good Samaritan Food Pantry.
