Carolyn K. Bentley

Carolyn Kay Bentley (Dowdy), age 58, of West Jefferson, OH, passed peacefully at home with her family by her side May 17th, 2021. Born in Columbus, Ohio to Arnold and late Edna (Butler) Dowdy in July 1961. She graduated from Hilliard High School in 1980. She was a long-time employee of General Motors. She enjoyed spending time with her husband of 39 years, Randy Bentley. Carolyn was a kind hearted woman who was always seen with a smile on her face and a well-known giggle. She loved taking vacations with her husband to Rosco Village and Nashville, and with her family to The Smokey Mountains, Myrtle Beach, and Hocking Hills. In the end, she enjoyed spending time with her father and watching westerns. Carolyn has touched many lives in her years of babysitting. She is survived by her husband Randy Bentley, father Arnold Dowdy, children Matthew (Karah Wooster) Bentley, and Heather (Michael) Self. Grandchildren Matthew and Devon Bentley (Emily Dunston) and Greyson and Jackson Self. Step-Grandchildren Caleb, Ethan, and Brody Pierce. Sisters Mary (late Rick) Cossin, Pam Dowdy, Cheryl (Dave) Piechotte, and Melissa (John May) Dowdy. Plus many more loving nieces, nephew, and extended family members. Carolyn was a very caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister who is dearly loved. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the Ronald McDonald House. Family will receive friends 11am- 1pm Monday, May 24, 2021, at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will follow at 1 pm. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Please note that due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Social Distancing will be observed and guests are required to wear a Facial Covering at the Funeral Home.
