Donnie Cordle

March 19, 1943 — November 27, 2024

Donnie Cordle known to many as Lobo. Was born March 19th on Darby Dan farm in the year of our lord 1943. Raised in Cordell, Kentucky. He graduated from Blaine high school, where he played baseball, basketball and ran track. He lettered in baseball and track. During summer while growing up he worked on Darby Dan farm. He enlisted in the Navy July 1962, discharging July 2nd 1968. He loved telling stories of sailing with the 6th fleet, places he’d seen as well as diving sometimes looking for underwater mines. Later in life he worked at North America Rockwell with his dad Cyrus. There the two would help build Apollo 10 through 18, the Xb-70 bomber to name a few. In 1971 he was hired at what was then International Harvester, where he retired from in 2003. He loved working there and talking about what he did there. He loved talking all the times he out ran the police while speeding. He loved going on vacation to 46 different states, Canada and Nova Scotia. Seeing most of those states on his 1982 Goldwing 1100. He was so proud of that bike and loved riding it, getting it up to 150mph once. He loved fishing mostly for catfish, shooting his firearms, and helping any one that needed it. He was an avid OSU Buckeye and Nascar fan. When he had his 68 Camaro, a lady had one just like his and nicknamed him Teddy Bear. That described him to a T. He had a heart of gold and as big as the outdoors, but not one to cross. He was protective of his family and anyone he loved. Donnie loved making people laugh with a good joke, as well as hearing one

Donnie is survived his loving wife Versia Toy, son Donald (Alexia) Cordle II, stepdaughter Cheryl Gabbard, Kim (Steve) Garrett, Michelle Toy, and Janet Toy. Brother Ronald (Kay) Cordle, brother Allan (Janice) Steele, sister Jaynie (Michael) Steele Sparks, close friends Terry and Anita Williams, Nine nieces and nephews, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
