Doris J Binkley

Doris J Binkley, 78 of West Jefferson passed away peacefully Sunday, May 15, 2022, at her home. Jean loved her family unconditionally and spent her time enjoying her family and friends at gatherings, meals and special occasions.  Her humor could have you laughing for hours. A few of her favorite things were spending time outside taking care of her flowers, her yard is full of them and she loved to travel, especially to the beaches where she loved sitting with her feet in the sand enjoying the ocean.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ted & Helen Blumenschein, sister Virginia Crouse, and brother Bobby, the father of her children Dave Griffith, and second husband Marvin Binkley.

She leaves behind her sisters, Ruth Younts of Springfield, and sister Alice Jones of North Carolina. She also leaves behind her three daughters, Sandy & Tim Phipps of West Jefferson, Barb Stiles of Indian Lake, and Karen & Cress Jenkins also of West Jefferson; grandchildren Melissa & Hunter Routte, Mandy & Rick Brickey, Abbey Simkins, Timothy D Castle, Ann & Nick Rice, Jennifer & Adam McCoy, Danielle & Ryan Wihl, Hallie & Derek Kagey;  great-grandchildren Brayden & Breana Morris, Makayla Eisel, Kaylyn, Rick, and Deetrich Brickey, Austin Rice & Lane Brobst, Ashlyn Rice, Katie, Riley, and Macie McCoy, Justus & Kolton Castle, and Adelaide Schnack; great-great-grandchildren, Hendrix and Tegan Morris; many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. 

Her wishes were cremation, a graveside service, and a celebration with dinner and laughter.  We will follow her wishes and they are as follows:

A Graveside Service in Plumwood Cemetery on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 3 pm and immediately following a Celebration of life at the VFW Post 7005 in West Jefferson with dinner and drinks to follow.
