Elizabeth M. Doherty

Elizabeth M. (Watson) Doherty, age 75 of West Jefferson, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2021. Born November 6, 1946, to Donald and Olive Watson. Elizabeth was born in Columbus, Ohio, and grew up in West Jefferson, Ohio. After graduating from West Jefferson High School, Elizabeth continued her education at The Ohio State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters Degree. Elizabeth taught for Hilliard City Schools at Brown Elementary and Norwich for 32 years. She was an active member in her church, a member of the West Jefferson Community Association, Alph Delta Kappa Sorority, Republican Women’s Organization, and Sweet Adeline’s.  Elizabeth married Herbert J. Doherty on June 7, 1974; they were married for 42 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Herbert, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Elizabeth is survived by son Joseph Doherty (Sarah); sister Susan (Bill) Lindig; cousin Donna Carter; niece Tara (Steve and Nathan) Ratzel. The family will receive friends Monday, May 10, 2021, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the RADER-McDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. MAIN STREET, WEST JEFFERSON, OH, 43162. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at 12:00 Noon at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the West Jefferson Community Association, P.O. Box 102, West Jefferson, OH, 43162, or to The West Jefferson Scholarship Fund, 906 W. Main Street, West Jefferson, OH, 43162, in Elizabeth’s memory.
