Emmett H. Kell

Emmett H. Kell, age 94, of West Jefferson, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021.  He was born October 20, 1927 in West Jefferson to Wilbert and Eva (Zirkle) Kell.  He married Patricia Christopher on September 16, 1951.  Emmett was preceded in death by his beloved wife and parents.  He is survived by his daughter Joyce (Jim) Rhoades, son Mark (Rhonda) Kell, his grandchildren Angie (Terry) Cordle, Aaron (Jackie) Rhoades, Leslie Rhoades and Lindsey Kell, his great-grandchildren Allyson, Aimee, Ayden Cordle and Keely Rhoades.  Emmett graduated from West Jefferson High School, Class of 1945 and was inducted into the West Jefferson Hall of Fame in 2002.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII in Germany.  He retired from Big Bear Stores after 42 years of service.  Emmett was a long-time member of Madison Lodge #221, F&AM, West Jefferson.  He loved to vacation with his family and loved fishing and hunting.  Emmett was an avid sports fan and especially loved watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and the West Jefferson Roughriders.

His family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00p.m. MONDAY at the RADER-MCDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 West Main Street, West Jefferson, OH 43162 (614)-879-9222.  A Masonic Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday.  Additional visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00a.m. TUESDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2021 where his Funeral Service will follow and begin at 11:00a.m. TUESDAY.  Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, West Jefferson.
