Fred Cowgill

 Charles Frederick "Fred" Cowgill, age 86, of West Jefferson, Ohio, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Doctor's West Hospital.  He was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 6, 1931, the third of nine children born to Harvey and Gladys (Fowler) Cowgill.  Fred was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War.  He retired from Local #55, Bricklayers & Tilesetters Union after 40+ years of service.  Fred was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.  He brought a smile to everyone's face and will be dearly missed by all.  Fred was preceded in death by his daughter Leesa Ann, sons Mark G. Cowgill and Donald A. Cowgill, brothers Gene Cowgill and Larry Cowgill and sisters Donna Rowley and Sandy Jones.  Fred will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 62 years Shirley Cowgill; his children Steven (Karen) Cowgill and Karen (Eric) Manske, grandchildren Trent (Amanda) Cowgill, Brett Cowgill, Megann Monske, Ryann Cowgill and Kalee Cowgill, great-grandchildren Gavin, Connor, Marley and Gabe, brothers and sisters: John Cowgill, Connie (Pete) Rodgers, Nancy Markuson, Beverly (Paul) Duffy, brothers-in-law Rex Rowley and Paul Jones, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many dear friends.  Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00p.m. WEDNESDAY at the RADER-MCDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 West Main Street, West Jefferson, OH 43162, (614)-879-9222 where his Funeral Service will be held 11:00a.m. THURSDAY, JUNE 29, 2017 with Deacon Joe Knapke, officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, Ohio.  If they choose, friends may make memorial contributions to: Ohio Health Hospice, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, OH 43214 in Fred's memory.
