Gerald Ellifritt

Gerald Richard Ellifritt, 93, passed away March 25, 2022, from cancer. He was born in Columbus, OH to Guy and Gertrude Ellifritt. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Carol Jean Ellifritt and his daughter-in-law Brenda Ann Ellifritt, as well as his sister Geraldine Demos and his brothers-in-law Jeffrey Demos and Lester Doughty, Jr. He is survived by sons Timothy, Thomas (Lori), and Todd, and by grandsons Joshua and Alex. Jerry graduated from Columbus West High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran (1950-52) serving in Germany as a tank crewman in the 4th Infantry Division. He retired from Lennox Industries with 40 years of service. Jerry was a life member of both the VFW (Post 9109) and the National 4th Infantry Division Association. An avid gun collector, he was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Ohio Gun Collectors Association. He was a long-time member of Columbia Heights United Methodist Church. Jerry was a devoted OSU Buckeyes fan. There will be no viewing or calling hours but a graveside service is planned for NOON on SATURDAY APRIL 9, 2022 at Sunset Cemetery 6959 W.
