James Bayer, age 87, passed away peacefully into eternal life on November 15, 2022. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Mary of 62 years and six children, one of whom he will greet in heaven, his youngest son John. His children Jim (Paige) Bayer, Beth (Mark) Taylor, Joe (Theresa) Bayer, Christine (Scott) Cramblett, and Dan (Julia) Bayer, along with 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, will forever honor and cherish his memory. James was deeply devoted to his family and faith, who supported him and ultimately gave him peace.
He came from a large family of 8 children, and was a longtime member of Saints. Simon and Jude Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed activities with his special son John, talking with people, and making others laugh. He lived his final days in loving care from his special friend Lynsie and others at the Bluebird Retirement Community.
The family will welcome friends on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 5-7 P.M., at the RADER-McDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. MAIN STREET, WEST JEFFERSON, OHIO, 43162. A Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the SAINTS SIMON AND JUDE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 9350 High Free Pike, West Jefferson, OH, 43162, with Father Dwayne McNew officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, West Jefferson, OH.
