James "Jim" K. Gourley

James K. "Jim" Gourley, age 61, of West Jefferson, Ohio, passed away suddenly in Athens, Ohio on Wednesday, August 2, 2017.  Jim was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Frank and Betty Gourley.  He was the long-time Warehouse Manager for Matthews-Aurora Casket Company in Columbus.  Jim was a dedicated volunteer for the West Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department who loved coaching the girls softball league of the WJYAA.  Along with his wife Leanne, Jim started the very first girls traveling softball team in West Jeff.  In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his mother-in-law June Ann Chenault, by his second mother-in-law Anne Chenault and his sister-in-law Dona Lindsey.  He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Leanne Gourley, his daughter Jessica Gourley of Plain City, Ohio, father-in-law Bill Chenault of Columbus, sisters: Cindy (Dale) Wagoner and Joan Gourley both of Florida, brothers-in-law Bill Chenault of Laurelville, Ohio, John Chenault of Logan, Ohio and Paul Chenault of West Jefferson, cousin Mickey (Phyllis) Gourley of Columbus, niece Britteny (Tommy) Brown and their children T.J. "Big Dog" Brown and Jacen "Pup" Brown all of Columbus, nephew Joshua (Sarah) Chenault of Mason, Ohio, and many other nieces and nephews and many friends.  Family will receive friends from 12:00P.M.-1:00P.M. SATURDAY, AUGUST 5, 2017 at the RADER-MCDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 West Main Street, West Jefferson, Ohio 43162 (614)-879-9222 where his Memorial Service will follow the visitation and begin at 1:00p.m. SATURDAY.  Private family burial will be held at Hampton Cemetery, West Jefferson, Ohio.  In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to consider a memorial contribution in Jim's name be made to: West Jefferson Youth Athletic Association, P.O.
