Jeanne Bloomfield

Jeanne Bloomfield, age 86, of West Jefferson, Ohio, went to be with the Lord while at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 25, 2024. Born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Dominic and Theresa Cerino, Jeanne was a graduate of Columbus North High School, Class of 1957. She retired from the State of Ohio, Department of Mental Health in 1992 after many years of service. Earlier, Jeanne was many students’ favorite bus driver for West Jefferson Schools. She was active in the Prairie Township Jaycees for many years, was a former president of the PTO, and was a Religious Education Instructor at Saints Simon & Jude Catholic Church. Together with her husband Wayne and family, she owned and operated Bloomfield Lake & Camp Grounds in West Jefferson for over 18 years. Jeanne loved to sing and was active in the church choir at SS. Simon & Jude. Jeanne and Wayne spent over 32 winters in Naples and Zephyrhills, Florida and made many friends there.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dominic and Theresa Cerino and by her beloved step-father Joseph Columbro. She was also preceded in death by her brother Danny Cerino, sister-in-law Janice Dougherty and her grandson Shane Brintlinger. 

Jeanne is survived by her husband of nearly 68 years Wayne Bloomfield, her children: Sandy (Rich) Lawless, Monica (Paul) Chelton, Terri (Scot) Riggle, Tina (Jim) Sabin and Jolene (Lonnie) Castle; her grandchildren: Christopher (Sophie) Pierce, Austin (Emily) Casto, Craig (Jen) Casto, Andy Lawless, Eric (Nicole) Pierce, Lindsey Pierce, Kaylee (Curtis) McClaskie, Kelsey (Jordan) Byers, Mitchell Whaley, Skylar (Rachel) Riggle, Rachel (Caleb) Baker, and Abby (Mike) Cassel; her great-grandchildren: Kenleigh, Lily, Jesse, Wren, Sophia, Ella, Seth, Freddie, Madilynn, Reagyn, Brynden, Ayden, Amber, Alexis and Annalee; brother Anthony (Linda) Cerino, brother-in-law Larry Dougherty, many nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members and friends.

Family will receive friends from 10:00a.m.-12:00p.m. FRIDAY, AUGUST 30, 2024 at SAINTS SIMON AND JUDE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 9350 High Free Pike, West Jefferson, OH 43162 (614)-879-8562 where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 NOON FRIDAY with Father Dwayne McNew, Celebrant.
