Joseph C. "Joe" Nelson, age 32, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017. Graduate of Westland High School, Class of '03, where he played football and power lifted. Joe was an avid fan of the The OSU Buckeyes and the Dallas Cowboys. Preceded in death by his mother, Catherine S. Nelson. Survived by father, Charles L. "Skeeter" (Sheila) Nelson; children, Kaiden, Joey, and Molly Nelson; stepbrother, Chris (Beth) Campbell; stepsister, Erika (Brian) Ciborek; significant other, Rebecca Gomez; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Friends may call Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 2 to 5 p.m. at RADER-MCDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. Main St. in West Jefferson, OH where funeral service will be Monday, August 28, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Deacon Joe Knapke officiating. Interment Alton Cemetery, Galloway, OH. In lieu of flowers, family will graciously accept contributions at the funeral home to help offset his final expenses.
