Joseph Thompson

Joseph “Joe” Thompson, age 81, of West Jefferson, (formerly of Hilliard, Ohio,) passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Joe was a proud US Navy veteran, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, cars, and raising bees for the honey, he loved The Ohio State Buckeye football team, but what he loved most was spending time with his family and grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents Merrill and Mary (Mills) Thompson; and his sister, Merrillyn Self.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Sue Thompson; children Amy (Mark) Rohm, Guy (Julie) Thompson, Penny Thompson, and Merrill (Becky) Thompson; grandchildren, Erin Reissig, Maggie Harris, Alyssa Moxley, Ryan Thompson, Ryker Nott, Olivia Harmon, Hayden Thompson, Eloise Thompson, and Colton Thompson, and 7 great-grandchildren.

The family will welcome friends on Monday, April 3, 2023, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with Funeral Service following visitation at 1:00 PM., at the RADER-McDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. MAIN STREET, WEST JEFFERSON, OHIO, 43162. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Hilliard, Ohio.
