Joyce Rae Grashel

Joyce Rae Grashel (Graumlich) was born in Gahanna, Ohio on June 10, 1938.  She passed away on January 6, at the age of 84.

After graduating from Gahanna Lincoln High School, she married her high school sweetheart Richard (Dick) Grashel.  Joyce raised four children while volunteering for several charities. She went on to work at Check Free until her retirement.

Joyce found much pleasure in watching The Ohio State University basketball team, following Tiger Woods golf career, and listening to David Phelps, along with going to his concerts.  She also liked to read, bake, and craft. One of her favorite hobbies was playing video games and she shared this love with her grandchildren.  Another of her favorite activity was crocheting.  Many of her creations were donated to various charities and animal shelters.  She also enjoyed nature and could often be found outside feeding many different furry woodland creatures that would visit.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Dick Grashel and parents Walter and Sarah Graumlich. She will be greatly missed by her family.  Stanton (Connie) Grashel, grandchildren Olivia (Jeff) Merifield, Kenton Grashel, Tayler (Nick) Dove and great-grandson Daniel Dove.   Pamela (Mark) Paisie, grandsons Joshua Paisie and Daniel Paisie, Eric (Laura) Grashel, granddaughters Samantha (Andrew) Selegue, soon to be great grandchild Baby Selegue and Josie Grashel, Sandra (Greg) Weaver and grand-puppy Biscuit. She is also survived by her sister Nancy (Graumlich) Blake and family and her sister-in-law Dianne Johnston and family.

The family will receive friends on Saturday January 14^th, 2023, from 1:00 - 4:00pm, with a eulogy beginning at 3:00pm, at Rader-McDonald-Tidd Funeral Home, 1355 W. Main Street, West Jefferson, Ohio.  (614) 879-9222.
