Mellie Theresa Hawkes

Mellie Theresa Hawkes, age 66, born May 19, 1956, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. She loved being outdoors, and her cat Aisha, watching T.V., but most of all she loved her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Weldon Otis Hawkes Sr., and Martha D. Hawkes; paternal and maternal grandparents: William R. (Ruth) Hawkes, and Lawrence (Martha) Britt; and sister: Cheryl D. Clark.

Mellie is survived by her son, Lawrence Hawkes; and daughter Cynthia D. Hawkes-Grubb; grandchildren, Stephany, and Seth Grubb; sisters, Delores D. Hawkes, and Tammy J. (Ed) Patterson; brothers, Weldon Otis (Brenda) Hawkes, Dwayne A. (Velda) Hawkes, and Terry L. (Kimberly) Hawkes; adopted brothers and sister, Mel, Rod, and Chris; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Inurnment: Hampton Cemetery, West Jefferson, Ohio.
