Philip McDaniel

Philip F. McDaniels II, 75, of Grove City, Ohio passed away peacefully Sunday August 29, 2016 surrounded by his family. Phil was born on January 19, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio. Preceded in death by his parents Philip F. McDaniels & Elizabeth (Ellis) McDaniels, sister Mary E. McDaniels. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara. Children: Todd (Carolyn) McDaniels, Trisha (John) Bowshier, Terra McDaniels (Karla Davis), Treva McDaniels (Tim Wilcox). Grandchildren: Simon & Lydia McDaniels, Christan & Ian Bowshier, Josh (Faith) Lanam and Brynn (Joel) Schaefer. Siblings: Patricia (Harold) Troyer, Joann (Kenneth) Fitzpatrick, James (Mary) McDaniels, Deborah (Arthur) Burdette & many nieces and nephews. Phil went to West Jefferson High School and attended The Ohio State University. He worked for Columbia Gas-41 years, Ken Dickerson Realty-22 years, and the Georgesville Volunteer Fire Department-20 years. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Lilly Chapel and was a Charter Member of Hickory Hills Golf Club.
Phil’s greatest joy was family, especially his grandchildren and many friends.
His home away from home was Englewood, Florida which he visited every year.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
Viewing will be from 6-8pm Thursday September 1st at Rader-McDonald-Tidd Funeral Home, 1355 W. Main St. West Jefferson, Ohio. Services will be held at 10 am, Friday September 2nd at Trinity United Methodist Church. 8530 Lilly Chapel – Georgesville Rd. London, Ohio.
