Phyllis Cox

Phyllis June Cox, of West Jefferson, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 86 on Monday, January 31, 2022.

She was the youngest of 3 children born to the late Herbert and America Allerton in 1935, and graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1953. She was married to the love of her life, Frank E. Cox on August 24, 1954.

Phyllis was a stranger to no one and a friend to everyone. Her infectious personality drew people to her. She could always put a smile on your face and make you feel like you were home.

She is preceded in death by her parents Herb and America Allerton, husband Frank E. Cox, brother Jack Allerton, sister Donna Ater, brothers-in-law Marvin Cox, and Paul Faust, sister-in-law Emma jo Faust, grandchild Tara Stover, and great-grandchild Ashley Puckett. She is survived by her loving daughters, Jennifer Stover, and Tracy (Bob) Boyer, grandchild Joey Boyer, great-grandchildren, Scot Puckett, Sydney Puckett, and Juan and Lorenzo Martinez, great-great-grandchild Waylon Puckett, nieces and nephews Neil (Pam) Ater, Keith (Vicki) Ater, LuAnn (Andy) Mast, Tony Faust, Tim (Julie) Faust, Ronnie Cox, Richard (Ronda) Gillivan, and sister-in-law Claudia Cox. Special friends Peggy McKinley, Ann Morgan, Charlene, and Pam Clark, her special personal nurses Laura Martin, and Robin Curry, and her 2^nd family the Nellie Elkins family that she dearly loved. Phyllis wanted everyone to know that she loved her family and neighbors very much.

There is no stronger love than a daughter's love for their mother and it showed in the love and care that her daughter Tracy gave to her mom. Tracy devoted her life to caring and taking care of her mom every day and your sister Jennifer thanks you for your devotion.  

The family will welcome family and friends on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M., with Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 P.M., at the RADER-McDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. Main Street, West Jefferson, OH, 43162. Interment will follow at Hampton Cemetery, West Jefferson, OH.
