Robert "Bob" H. Niepert

Robert (Bob) Niepert, age 82 of Columbus, Ohio passed away Wednesday March 8, 2023 surrounded by family.  Bob was born October 17, 1940 to Margaret and Martin Niepert in Cleveland, Ohio.  He graduated from Highland High School, Class of 1958 in Medina, Ohio.  He was a proud Air Force Veteran who thrived and retired from a successful career as a photogrammetrist since 1961.   He was co-founder of M.A.N. Mapping Services in 1987 and a member of the American Society for Photogrammetry.  Bob was a longtime leader and member of Lincoln Village Lions Club and a role model for so many.  Bob was a man of ethics, a born storyteller, loyal friend, train and aircraft enthusiast, avid science fiction reader, talented chef and baker, lover of cats, and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He was truly unique and touched the life of everyone he met.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 61 years, Janice and his brother James (Linda).  Bob leaves behind cherished daughters Jennifer (Don) Foster and Erica (Cris) Thatcher, his adoring grandsons Griffin (Jesi), Ian (Makayla), Trey (Samara), Sean (Allison) and great grandson Lake and great granddaughter Baleigh.  Too soon, Bob also had to leave loving new found partner Bonnie, his sisters Suzanne (Don), Kathleen (Mark), Juanita (Mike), sister-in-law Genie, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  We are all forever grateful for his kindness, generosity, love, great humor and infinite wisdom.  

We welcome everyone to celebrate his wonderful life at Rader-McDonald-Tidd Funeral Home 1355 West Main Street in West Jefferson, OH from 12pm to 2pm on Saturday, March 18, 2023 with a Memorial Service starting at 2pm.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Madison Co.
