Robert J. Feddern, born May 18, 1923 in Canton Ohio, was taken home to be with the Lord on August 17, 2017. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. (Sr.) and Bernice Feddern, and sister Winifred Hendrix. Bob is survived by his wife Dortha, daughter Janis (John) Murray, son James (Lori) Feddern, and sister Brenda (Ross) Libby. Bob loved spending time with his five Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren. Bob moved to West Jefferson, Ohio in 1940 and graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1941. Bob served in the Army Air Corp from 1943-1945 then married the love of his life Dortha C. Luh in April, 1948. Bob worked for the New York Central Railroad from 1941-1961, then went to work at the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, Transportation Department, Railroad Division where he retired after 23 years. Bob was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church often serving on the council. He was a respected member of the West Jefferson Community and was very active in the Community & Businessmen's Association and was awarded the honor of becoming the Grand Marshal of the 2000 West Jefferson Ox Roast parade. Bob and Dortha delivered Meals on Wheels for 21 years. Bob was an avid bicyclist and loved to play cards with the Crab Club. Bob was a Mason for 60 + years. The family will receive friends Sunday August 20, 2017 from 2-5 PM and also Monday August 21, 2017 from 10-11 AM funeral service will follow at 11 AM at Rader-McDonald-Tidd Funeral Home, 1355 West Jefferson, Ohio 43162 with Pastor Larry Baker officiating.
