Roger L. Jester

Roger L. Jester, Sr., age 75, of West Jefferson, Ohio, went to the arms of the Lord on Sunday, June 2, 2024. Born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Harold and Martha Jester, Roger was a graduate of Pleasant View High School, Class of 1967. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Roger was a life-long accountant. He formerly worked for Buckeye Stamping and later worked for the Bricker & Eckler Law Group before retiring from there in 2014 after a 19-year career. Roger was a member of the American Legion Jefferson Post #201, the Clarence “Bo” Casto VFW Post #7005 and was a member of the West Jefferson United Methodist Church.
Laughter cures all. "Papa" Jester had an amazing sense of humor and was always smiling. A loving husband, father, and papa, Roger enjoyed his time golfing and playing euchre and had fond memories from his many cruise adventures with Margie and close friends. He was a big fan of the Brown and Gold and attended as many Roughrider football and basketball games as possible, especially the away games where he enjoyed finding new small-town diners with his sons. He coached youth sports for many years, and later really enjoyed attending his grandkid's athletic events, ballets, and other activities. He took pleasure in listening to music by the old county legends.Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years Margie Jester, his children Roger (Melissa) Jester, Stephanie Jester, Jennifer (Scott) Behrendt, Andrew (Wendy) Jester, Tiffany DeLong, Geoff DeLong, grandchildren Tyler (Madison) Jester, Megan (Zach) Thomas, Synthia (Chris) Jester, Caleb Wears, Olivia Behrendt, Parker Behrendt, Logan Jester, Cayden Kocher, great-grandchildren Tate, Trae and Millie Jester and Leia Thomas, siblings John (Brenda) Jester, Michael (Becky) Jester, Deirdre (Larry) Bogner, and their families, and many loving friends.
Family will welcome friends from 2-4 & 6-8p.m. THURSDAY at the RADER-MCDONALD-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 West Main Street, West Jefferson, Ohio 43162 (614)-879-9222 and from 12:00p.m.-1:00p.m. FRIDAY, JUNE 7, 2024 at the WEST JEFFERSON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 36 South Center Street, West Jefferson, Ohio 43162 where his Funeral Service will follow the visitation and begin at 1:00p.m. FRIDAY, JUNE 7th with Pastor Ruth Pribe, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service at Hampton Cemetery, West Jefferson, Ohio.
