Ronald E. Lavely

Ronald E. Lavely, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, surrounded by his loving family, friends and his Firefighter family. Ron spent 40 years in the fire service starting out his career at the Franklin Township Fire Department and later moved to the City of Columbus Fire Department. He then worked his way up the rank to Captain. Ron ended his career as Chief of the Prairie Township Fire Department after 40 years of service. He loved spending time with family, and boating on the water with friends. To know Ron was to love him. He never met a stranger, he was always smiling, laughing and loving life. Ron is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Frances Lavely, son David Lavely, and daughter Michelle McAninch. He is survived by his loving wife Linda of 16 years, son Robert Lavely, daughter Tammy Jenny, sister Carol Haenszel, son-in-law David McAninch, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family will welcome friends at The Columbia Heights United Methodist Church 775 Galloway Rd., Galloway, OH 43119, Friday, January 18, 2019, from 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M where Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Larry Baker officiating. Interment will be at the Galloway Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
