Sally Lou Rees, age 88, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, June 13, 2021. She was born April 9, 1933, to Jennie and Walter Woodward. She was a 1951 graduate of West Jefferson High School. She loved music, singing her beautiful alto voice in the Methodist Church Choir, the Eastern Star, and the Sweet Adelines. Everybody’s birthday had to be celebrated with cake and ice cream. She loved family parties and cooking for everyone. She enjoyed decorating their log house with all kinds of baskets and country décor. She had a marvelous sense of humor and loved making us laugh. Although an only child, her “sisters” were her cousins, Anna Speasmaker Fettrow and Susie Arganbright Houston, who are greeting her in heaven. She met her husband, Bill Rees, when they both worked in the office at Anderson Concrete. They were married October 25, 1985, and enjoyed 35 ½ wonderful years together. She enjoyed and entertained their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Bill; daughters, Sandra (Richard) Chenault and Kathy O’Harra Hardgrove; step-children, Sandra Rees, Teresa (Dean) Stewart and Tom Rees; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ryan) Stillwell, Emily Wester, Katrina (Dennis) Ingle, Dustin (Anna) Hardgrove, Tommy (Brooke) Rees, Caitlin (Jay) Sheridan; and soon-to-be 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at 10 am, Thursday, June 17 at Rader-McDonald-Tidd funeral home, 1355 West Main Street, West Jefferson, Ohio, followed by memorial service at 11 am.
